Color of Corruption

corrupt

Here comes Corruption,

The eighth lethal peccadillo,

Outshines Wrath, Greed, sloth,

Pride, Lust, Envy and Gluttony

Engulfs all akin to Tsunami

Red – taped corridors of power

Govern by the despots of

Brown envelope, tinged with

Black magic strategy blacken

Prospects of the prefecture

Blind bizarre ethics of

Blackmail nepotism helix

Greengages to gangrene;

Blue skies materialize with

Therapeutic antidote

Dark horses wrestle war

Against blueprint of white lies

In Green vestibule of truth

Animated thoughts cease

Red hot embers of sleaze!

  1. A very powerful poem …paradoxical given the apparent impotence that corruption wields on the docile public. I was drawn by the title given that I’d written “The colour of a Lie”. Thank you for visiting creativeintrospection.

  2. your poem makes me think of how even the precious, free things like “color” are corrupted by those who corrupt. and they don´t care. color is just another thing to own… but not for the true poet and that should be a manifesto. wonderful poem.

  4. First of all I would like to say excellent blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I’ve had trouble clearing my mind in getting my ideas out.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to
be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips?

    Thanks!
